“Working with Andrew General Contractors on the construction of the Winter Park Health & Fitness facility was an enjoyable experience. What I liked about Todd was that he worked with me from the start, making sure to keep quality high, while keeping the expenses within budget. Even after the project was complete, AGCI was still accessible if I had any questions or concerns.”

— Dennis Skog, Winter Park Health & Fitness

Village-on-the-Green-ISU-Photos View Photos Project Details: The Village on the Green - INTERIORS & SYSTEMS UPGRADE project consists of 29 semi-private and 2 private patient room renovations. The Owner’s goal was to upgrade the appearance of the Health Center to look more like a home to each resident, rather than a healthcare institution. New finishes were applied to public and private spaces. Restrooms were modified with more residential-looking fixtures. Doors that had been damaged from over twenty-seven years of wear and tear have been replaced with vinyl-clad doors, with a wood grain appearance, for greater impact-resistance. Access to the Physical Therapy was improved and a Food Demonstration area was added to the central Living area for increased community interaction. Electrical and HVAC services were modified to meet current Code requirements. Due to more stringent codes, screen walls were added to the roof to protect rooftop HVAC units from storm impact. Packaged Heat Pumps have replaced the original air conditioner units in each resident room. Also included is the addition of CATV and electrical connectivity for an individual television for each resident. Light fixtures have been replaced to enhance the residential quality of each resident room, and to meet each Code-required aspect of general illumination, physician exams, reading and night-lighting. Both the existing fire alarm and nurse call systems were replaced and brought up to code, per the owner’s request. Resident security has been improved from integration with the Owner’s perimeter alarm system replacement. This project was staged in six phases to allow continuous patient care and to eliminate the need to transport patients to other facilities during construction. This phasing was also intended to minimize business disruptions.
