120 N. Orange Avenue View Photos Project Details: AGCI was brought in by Kuhn Companies to provide structural analysis and design-build services on an existing historical building located in the heart of downtown Orlando at 120 N. Orange Avenue. The building was constructed in the early 1900's and the tired clay tile block and wood frame structure were in dire need of new structural reinforcing. AGCI basically built a "new structure inside the old structure" and re-supported the entire two-story, 18,000-square-ft. office building. Great care was taken to maintain the historical integrity of the office building and many hours were spent coordinating with the City of Orlando's Historic Preservation Board and Permitting Services. The majority of the existing concrete slab was replaced, 25 new pad footings were installed, new steel columns and beams were provided to re-support the 2nd floor and roof wood structures, perimeter triple LVL beams and intensive amounts of rough carpentry were all provided to bring the building up to the current Building Codes. A new roof was provided along with new metal framing, stucco and storefront materials. A new smoke evacuation system was installed with a code required emergency generator backup system. A new steel egress stair was provided along with an aluminum front entry canopy and tile along the front of the building to reflect the historical era in which the building was originally constructed.

PUSH, Inc. View Photos Project Details: When advertising firm PUSH, Inc. moved to Kuhn Companies newly renovated "Cornerstone Building," they wanted the inside to complement the firm’s eclectic and contemporary artistic style. Inspired by SoHo in New York, AGCI completed the 16,000-sq.-ft. interior build-out for the company’s new headquarters, located in the heart of downtown Orlando at the corner of Jefferson and Orange Avenue. For the new loft-style office, AGCI painted the exposed structure, electrical conduit, spiral ductwork and plumbing throughout the space. Oak wood floors were installed throughout and a round dry wall soffit cloud was built in the lobby hovering over a circular reception desk. In addition, several eclectic designs were exhibited as the AGCI team installed wood trim over exposed metal studs in the main corridor. All low height workstation walls were built with a frosted plexiglass to accentuate exposed metal stud framing and the concealed electrical conduit inside the partitions. The 90-day project also included installing new HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire alarm systems throughout the space.
